Can 10w7 handle 1000 watts?

Just wondering if any one has put a 1000/1 to a 10w7 and ran on a daily basis? I am acually thinking about running 3 10w7's and 3 1000/1's and wonder how it would sound and would the subs handle it?

I'm sure it would handle it. But arent they rated at 750? Just be careful and watch your gains.

It can handle it, i have a mtx 1501d on mine (3 ohm load = 1000W rms at 14.4 volts) I asked the guys at the shop i bought mine from if they thought it could handle it and they said it will take 1000W easily. Just watch the gains on your amp.

if i am not mistaken they are rated at 500 rms

I have read the power chart! I also know that JL amps are usually more powerfull than stated so I did not know if there subs would handle more than rated?

I am lookin to run 3 10w7's and 3 1000/1's for a spl set up. just trying to research first.

So I guess the answer is NO?

No one has ran a 1000/1 to a 10w7.

I would not run twice a drivers RMS to it in hopes of more output, when you could simply get a driver that can handle the power and get equivalent output. Three 10w7's is a pretty penny, why not go for two 13w7's and two 1000/1's? Should cost a bit less, and you will be able to safely run the power you want.

Or go for another manufacturer entirely....

it isn't the power that i want to run. i believe that 2 13's is stock 3 and 3 10's is stock 2.

I was acually thinking about 3 10w7's and 3 500/1's but was told it probly wouldnt compete well in stock 2.

maybe i'll do 3 500/1's first if it doesn't produce like I want then I'll do 3 1000/1's

I thought that as well and was gonna run w6v2's but I have heard so much about w7's. I have a friend with 1 10w7 on 1 500/1 turned down and it hits nice! so I can only imagine 3 10w7's on 3 500/1's or even 3 1000/1's in my hatchback!
