camper top bed boxs

Do people still do this? back in the day that was THE way to put a big *** box in a truck since extend cabs where few and far between and no such thing as 4 doors?

we used to throw a good camper top on the truck.. pop out the back window and put a gasket between the two and bring the box just inside the back window

its been done in the past. i think the preferred method is to built a giant ported inclosure in the bed of the truck, and port it into the cabin. that way you can still have some usable cargo space, and have the clean look a of a tonneau cover to hide it all. also for security issues a tonneau cover is much harder to remove than a camper shell.

we once did a cut out on a single cab ford where the back of the cab below the window was cut out and the bed was cut out the a new slip threw was built to slide the box behind the seat for 3 vega 15's it was sweet all that was seen from inside the cab after the carpet was put back was these 3 15's which looked as though they where bolted right to the back of the cab wall. the only problem with that was truck felx the guy couldn;t go rock crawling .. not that he ever would.

well, i like them on pickups anyway, because i'm spoiled rotten with storage space.
