Calling all enclosure "pros"

Hey guys, I got a 12" tc 1000 dvc in a three foot cube slot ported box tuned to 32 hz per RE calculator; running off an Alpine mrp650. The lows are awesome but the "mids" (kick drum) sound pretty muddy. I think the box is too big, but that's what tc recommended. Any thoughts? Please help, It's starting to bug me. Thanks:crazy:

i say box is too big and should be closer to 2-2.25 with similar tuning. personal experience i'd have build the box at 2.2 cubes tuned to 35hz. i'm sure others will chime in and give you different advice.

That's a pretty **** big box for a single 12. I agree with fasfocus00 on the box size but i'd say tune to 33 or 32 like it's at, but use a different calc than RE.

Yea i'd say to big. Some 12's want that much, but yours not so much. Also i would raise the tuning a bit if u listen to more metal or what not.

I use the12volt.com and then cross check things by hand, they're really close to perfect, if you aren't a perfectionist then you'll be just fine using it for everything.

Check your settings on the amp first, imo. Made a huge difference for me, with my setup.
