well i called some local shops around where i live

1st shop-sells clifford-has clifford 3.5 for 350+install=about 600$ because they said i need a bypass module? its a 99 blazer can ayone confirm this? like pass key or something

2nd shop-sells prestige wants near 650 for a 996alarm, and he said he didnt think i need anything extra

call best buy- wants 500 installed+little bypass partso its like 600$ for viper 791

circuit city-has python 881 or what ever, same price 500 installed lady that answered was retarded i think, so didnt get much info from her

i dont really want to drive to CC so x that out

and i would rather have a dei than prestige so prolly x the 2nd out too

now i can go to the 2nd one tomorrow and get it installed

but BB said prolly not until sunday, now i cant do it sunday and i start school back on monday, and the install guy at best buy didnt really sound like he knew to much either when i talked to him, i cant install by myself and they wont install if i buy from internet so im stuck in the middle, i think these prices are a little to high anything i can do?

You should need the GM passlock...Not 100% sure on that. That's the module they are talking about most likely. It's around $50.
yeah u need it i looked it up yesterday at work u need one. also before u go to the place ask if they have the passlock in stock. cause they say they have it and then they find out they dont have the that one or a similar one.

okay

so which would you guys go with? i dont really want to do bestbuy but i like the viper but the clifford also looks good, but i didnt expect it to be 600 i figured it would be cheaper than BB

When I was doing research for my alarm system I found that Clifford, Compustar and Viper were at the top of the pack. Id go for clifford or compustar for ease of use and features.

I personally have a Compustar 2W8000FM with remote start. I can get signal from my underground parking garage to my suite on the fourth floor. Out in public, depending on line of sight and the types of materials between you and your car you can expect to get a signal between 500-1000ft. But I must make it clear, this is all relative to the materials between you and your car.

I highly reconmend that you talk to the installer before you let him any where near your car. I have herd way to many horor stories about bad installs with places like BB and CC. Im not saying they are all bad, becasue they arent, but talk to the guy first, find out if he knows what hes talking about.

So out of the options you have listed above id go with the first shop.
