Alrigh this goes along with the semi-intelligent converstation about gas and i figured this is a cool stat for you guys to figure out.

You do not have to put your annual salary but here is what you do

Calculate how much you spend on gas in a monthly basis. Multiply that by 12

Now add up your annual salary and see what percentage you spend of it on gas.

As I am still in Highschool and i only work about 60 hours every 2 weeks here is mine

Monthly Salary - 650 x 12 = about 8000

Monthly Gas Payments - 110 x 12 = about 1400

1400/8000 = .175 or about 18% of my total paychecks goes to GAS alone! DANG:furious:

unlrealist number cause 4 moths ago it was cheaper then now, 3 months from now it can be ALOT higher. i spend more then enough a month on gas.

To buy anything else I have to dig into my summer earnings, which are half decent for someone my age. Plus I work mowing/detailing about 1-2 months after school starts and 2 months before it ends again, so that gives me a good jump start so that I have enough money for the year.

at least my parents pay for insurance. whew.

we are all feeling hte burn in our pockets and it sucks balls. i hate working to pay for gas, i chose not to eat on lunch breaks for 5$ or something so i can have that money for gas.

I also am still in high school...

I make around $600 a month, and I only have a permit so I only drive to work. I fill up about every paycheck, and it costs $40, so $80/month.

$600 x 12 = $7200 (man that sucks:crap)

$80 x 12 = $960

960/7200= .133333333 ~ 13%

Not that bad, I get around 20mpg in the city, 210 miles a tank.

lucky me i take the metro to work everydayand spend about $15 a week on gas since the train station is right next to my house

How many have souped-up their cars ?

How many don't carpool ?

How many could take the bus ?

How many could walk or bike to work ?

There's plenty YOU COULD ACTUALLY DO to cut costs, but a lot of people just ***** about it while driving an SUV that gets 15 mpg ...

I obviously havnt souped up my car

I dont carpool... because I cant due to my after-school duties

I really dont care, I dont find that it is that much money. There is nothing you can do to change the price, so why complain? I was just joining in on the thread...
