Cadence VS Planet Audio

Alright, I am getting my self a Tempest, and the RMS is 750 W. I only have a jbl 600.1 right now so I am going to fix that with a bigger amp. I am either getting the Planet Audio 400.2 or the Cadence Z9000. Any sugestions, that are backed up with some reason why you would choose that amp?

not sure about the planet audio amps, but most amps rated at 400.2 actually output only 200x2 at 2 ohms per channel or 400x1 at 4 ohms bridged. From what I hear, cadence amps are good. What is the rated output though on it? You might be better off with that JBL amp, since you already have one.

The JBL amp I have is the 600.1, and the rms on the Tempest is 750. The PA amp does 800w x 1 @ 4 ohm Bridged, so does the Cadence. I am not sure which one to get though.

wait a second....PLANET AUDIO ALL THE WAY....every speaker i have running in my car is run off a planet audio amp and to tell the truth, they kick ***...not only is my stuff loud, but it is crystal clear...planet audio amps have very very low thd...bout .04% which is excellent. i doubt cadence or jbl or any of those could do that...i kno that 600.1 has about a 1% harmonic distortion factor.....

Hey, I feel the same way because I have used them, not the 400.2, but others and they run perfectly. Your actually running the amp that I would get... I've still got some thinking to do though.

cadence is my vote as well simply b/c i think planet are good amps but i'd still rather have the cadence. oh and harison labs no don't put out their rated rms ask bigbassman about that.

if you can tell a difference between those amps CLARITY wise, when they are swapped on the same sub... you're better than most... (note the serious doubt I have)

Planet audio is adequate... bout all..

1% THD is regular for a class D unit, and in the bass region, completely inaudible....

If you knew how much distortion was being given off by your speakers, you wouldn't be too concerned about the miniscule thd variance, especially in subwoofers.
