cadence cvl-5k not loud enough

ok so i got a set of cadence's cvl-5k components a while ago, finally got a chance to put them in.. and im not impressed at all, my old speakers were about twice as loud, and those were cheap walmart xplods. Anyway, im feeding them 75 watts, and my gains are a little under half, and i go to turn it up to a decent volume and it sounds like they are bottoming out, very hollow sounding.

Another thing is the right one sounds blown right out of the box, its popping and it sounds like something is bouncing around in the speaker but i know there isnt because i checked twice.

im not sure what the problem is with the loudness of the or the right speaker not working correctly, i hope you guys can help me out

If i am not mistaking those are the ones with the 3" voice coils, 75 watts is not enough to really bring them to life. Try giving them more power, they can get extremely loud and can take a butt load of power but you need to supply them the correct wattage.

thanks for the reply, yeah i was planning on upgrading amps this summer anyway, would the AQ4x90 give those speakers what they want or do they need even more power then that? also would my electrical system be up for it? i would have a AQ1200D amp and the AQ4x90 amp together pushing approximatly 1230 watts rms. i have 105 alt amp and im gonna be getting a kinetic battery and ive done the big 3, but i really dont want to replace my alt, because of one reason, you have to pull the motor to get to it, now i could do it and have the capability to do it, i just dont want to if i dont have to.

mb quart dsc4124....is a decent amp...i have kicker ss comps and they need lots of power as well

they need more power iirc they can handle up to 150rms a piece,

hmm seems like a decent amp indeed, but the question is will my electrical system support that and the AQ1200D which would be 870watts rms @ 2ohm

My CVL-6Ks SCREAM.

You have to give them some power to work with though, I give them ~190Wrms per side.

wow i guess im really underpowering them then, that explains why there not even as loud as my cheap old ones.

The Cadence ZRS1502 would be an nice match up for them, it will give them 150 watts a side rms.
