Cable routers?

anyone know about wireless cable routers....my house has very few cable outlets and that really limits the placement of my tv's. Do they make wireless cable routers? anyone have experience with them?

It shouldn't be too hard to run another wire to where you want to place the TV. If its on the 2nd floor; Is your basement finished?

I don't know specifically what youre asking, but with most routers you connect it to the modem (Cable or DSL) via ethernet cable...so all routers can be used as a "cable" router

If it's just for TV then you just need a distribution amplifier.

what i'm asking is this....is there a wireless system that i can plug my cable that comes out of the wall into a transmitter and connect receivers to the tv set so there is no "hardwire connection" from the tv to the cable outlet.

Almost thought you meant wireless internet connection too, I have never heard of wireless cable-television.

If you have an internet connection in the room, something like Slingbox might work. You would hook the Slingbox unit up to your cable connection. Then you would have to hook your computer up to your tv and watch tv through the computer. Not a great solution, but it would work.

I'm sure it's possible, but I have never seen wireless CATV before. A standard ethernet router wouldn't work since the TV signal is completely different. I think they do make wireless TV routers specifically for your purpose but I have never used one.

thats what i was afriad of...i don't see why they don't have it yet...especially once cable signal goes all digital
