that is kind of the grey area i was talking about, especially when it comes to old school equipment, where only a hand-full of people, sometimes not including the seller, knows much about it...... just getting back into c.a., that's pretty much where my experience comes from, with some hobbyist knolwedge of things between now and then..... for exaple, not an ideal example, but still- i just saw a jbl 6k amp from 2004, and provided my experience with it when it was new, in response to the o.p. mentioning "i don't think people really know what this is"......... is that so bad, as to ban someone?

The people who were banned were either posting nonsense or bashing the seller.

According to the rules as currently stated, even positive comments can be considered post dumping. I believe this aspect of the rule is to minimize replies in the classifieds and keep those forums as concise and manageable as possible. Post dumping, including positive comments and their consequences, is currently being discussed in the mod forum. If it must be, then even positive comments will not be allowed. I understand what you are saying, and I think you make some valid points... but so long as the members understand, I dont think discouraging even positive comments will be a terrible burden for the members to bare. I will get clarification on that, and I or one of the other mods will do our best to inform everyone of what is decided, once that happens.

I came home from work this morning to find quite a few reported posts. I wanted to say thankyou for you guys helping us support the rule system. I think this is a sign that members here not only support many of the new rules, but want to help us change the site for the better. This attitude is appreciated, and is exactly how we can and will make this a better site for the majority.
I found other mods handled most of the reported posts already, last night, but there are one or two Ive created a thread in the mod section to get clarification on before taking any action (in case anyone wonders why nothing has happened on a post they reported last night).

Please be patient with us, as we have a couple new mods (myself and Bob of course), and as most of you know some rules have recently changed or the intention to better enforce them has been announced. It will take some time for everyone to get on the same page, mods and members alike. In the mean time, your patience and support is necessary and appreciated. Thanks again.

This is exactly the kind of encouragement I needed. Immediately after the classifieds change, I stayed on top of every section and reported any and every thread that didn't meet the rules. I figured that with the new moderating staff, this would not be necessary anymore. It would appear I was wrong, I will continue to report as I see necessary. Thanks for keeping us "in the know"!

It really does. More car audio and less thunderdome. The way it should be. I don't go to car audio forums to see whats being going on the last few weeks in the dome and thus I've stayed away lately. Changes could bring me back a little more like I used to be when I first came here.

How about making the thunderdome another site, closely linked with this one, but not part of the same site... just an idea.

You guys keep reporting. We are outnumber greatly & can't catch everything, we rely on your help. If you don't report it there's no guarantee one of us will see it, but if it's reported it will be addressed.
