ca.com members, thankyou for supporting the moderator staff

Thanks man. You can bet that if Im ever asked to recommend a mod, your name will be at the top of my short list. Not because you and I have always gotten along well, but because you are a mature guy who doesn't lose his cool, and are very knowledgeable on car audio (which are probably the reasons we've always gotten along so well lol).
Made me cry a little bit.
But seriously, I'm not so sure I would look as good in that suit. I've had my feathers ruffled a few times when I should have shrugged it off. A very kind gesture, though, especially from you. Thank you.

We all get our feathers ruffled sometimes. I certainly have before, and Im sure I will again. I dont hand out praise often, yours is well deserved. You are a valuable member of the site, no doubt.

Everyone is going to get their feathers ruffled. Its how you handle the situation. Coming back with solid facts to prove your point is god in an argument, And I dont think you have any problem with standing behind any of your statements. Its just a different way of arguing instead of just throwing out meaningless insults.

I believe post dumping is better defined in the classified rules sticky located in those areas. But its basically posting in someone's for sale thread with intentions other than genuine interest in the product being sold. This would include comments/opinions on the asking price, the product itself, the thread starter, and even includes replies aimed at explaining how forum rules are not being followed within that thread. Basically, if you arent there with a legit interest in making a deal, dont post anything. It is felt that this is the most fair way to allow people to try and sell things without a bunch of tire-kickers ruining his thread/ad. Hope that explains it for you.

.
I don't believe positive comments or reviews on a product is post dumping in the classifieds...because some items people arn't familiar with...some of the positive comments i've read have encouraged me to buy......but I think It is when one comes in with links to ebay or some other place....and putting down the sellers item because they don't like it or the brand...i think all negative comments on an item being sold is post dumping ...when someones trying to sell something.....

I'm not sure if others see it like this...I also know the majority of dumpers will never buy...and are the ones that will get scammed because they fall for that to good to be true deal...from a seller with 10 poast

Thanks, man.

So anyways, snoopdan says we have to stop blowin' each other, so I guess I'll see you around.

bringing back an earlier topic

How about making the thunderdome another site, closely linked with this one, but not part of the same site... just an idea.

.

i want to see this site back to its roots, before my time on here, where it was directed more twords car audio and not bullshit, the dome has taken over the major portion of this site imo.

According to the rules as currently stated, even positive comments can be considered post dumping. I believe this aspect of the rule is to minimize replies in the classifieds and keep those forums as concise and manageable as possible. Post dumping, including positive comments and their consequences, is currently being discussed in the mod forum. If it must be, then even positive comments will not be allowed. I understand what you are saying, and I think you make some valid points... but so long as the members understand, I dont think discouraging even positive comments will be a terrible burden for the members to bare. I will get clarification on that, and I or one of the other mods will do our best to inform everyone of what is decided, once that happens.

that is kind of the grey area i was talking about, especially when it comes to old school equipment, where only a hand-full of people, sometimes not including the seller, knows much about it...... just getting back into c.a., that's pretty much where my experience comes from, with some hobbyist knolwedge of things between now and then..... for exaple, not an ideal example, but still- i just saw a jbl 6k amp from 2004, and provided my experience with it when it was new, in response to the o.p. mentioning "i don't think people really know what this is"......... is that so bad, as to ban someone?
