You can pay 2k more for real leather when buying a new MB. Or a little over 3k for the S550 we're looking at.

But the MB-Tex leather (fake) is still really good stuff. And, it'll out-perform real leather over time. But myself, I'd rather put time in and take care of my real leather.

deff cheap, not seeing any in under 250miles to where I live though. I can find some E350's and E500-E63 thats it. There is one E430 with close to 150k on it and thats to many miles

pretty much, if I knew for sure all winters would be as short as this one has been I'd say **** it and just keep my durango for the 1-2 months I need it for snow. Never know when it's going to drop a foot or two though.

I drive a Toyota which is more American than most American car companies!
A lot of Toyota owners have convinced themselves of that. But, its simply not true, and you have been duped by their marketing plan. Putting an assembly plant in Alabama does not make it being American made. Its being made elsewhere, with a few Americans overseeing the final step of assembling them, mostly by machine/robot.

Only reason they did that at all is because you fit more of them in a crate and save money by paying us stupid americans to put them together, all while giving us a sense that toyota is more affiliated with this country. I guess the general toyota construction is similar to that of a pizza box with everything basically popping or gluing together, and everyone knows how to put together a pizza box.

Nissan, Honda, Toyota, Hyundai ALL have factories here. Meanwhile, if you've checked a new dumbestic window sticker, you will see "assembled in canada from parts made in mexico" on most all of them. Hell, I still have the window sticker from my 2010 ram and 2010 civic si if you'd like proof. But way to not know anything about economics.
Again, just an assembly plant, which is a small fraction of the over all cost/labor to actually produce a car. I agree its sad American manufacturers assemble a lot of models in Canada, but at least the profits come back to this country. The profits from those toyotas and nissans goes back to japan.

The initial reason overseas auto makers started putting assembly plants in the U.S. is because the import tariffs on a pile of parts is considerably less than an assembled car. The marketing dupe 'made in america' was merely a pleasant side-benefit.
