A washed-up, has-been he prolly is not, depending on how well the neck injury really rehabbed/rehabs.

But worth $28 million?? Nah, I can't see it.

Colts took the money and ran... and will prolly run further with it than the Dolphins will with #18

It would be stupid of them to throw 28+ million at him not knowing if or for how long he could play. Hell even if he was in perfect health he doesnt have too many years left ahead of him. They were already interested in getting their next QB... this allowed them to do that and not spend a whole lot in the mean time. Smart business move. Maybe not so smart in a football sense.(if he can/does still play)

I never really put too much faith in quarterbacks starting right out of college. I understand the reasoning behind drafting them and replacing an aging, but still good qb, but it is a gamble. I'd like him to be good, he seems like a nice enough guy and has talent to spare but no matter who you play against in college it's a whole other game in the pros.

Yes, it was .... and I don't think Peyton will ever be "The Franchise" again anymore than Montana was after the Niners gave him the boot.

Prolly still be a pretty solid QB, but the glory days are over.

And, HEYULL no, Luck won't be the Colts next star! He'll be lucky not to be beaten out of the starting spot, lol.

($28 million will buy a couple of 'stars') //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/cool.gif.3bcaf8f141236c00f8044d07150e34f7.gif

The only thing Manning has that isnt possibly gone, is his knowledge of the game. And thats his main strength anyway. Someone with a young up-and-coming QB (not some "star" rookie) would be smart to pay him for a few years just to have him around their QB so that they could learn.

And when are people going to learn, these over-hyped college kids never end up being the great players they are made out to be.

Lets see:
Chris Weinke

Joey Harrington

Cade McCnown

Daunte Culpepper

Thats only a few fails. There tons more. Being great in college is totally differant than the big leagues. Like some one already said
the dude that the raiders had for ever that totally ******. Can't even remember his name right now. But I remember readin that they paid him tons of money, and he ****** so bad, that it equaled up to like $700k per touchdown over 5 years. Lol
Wherever Manning winds up he will fill the stadium, and THAT is a smart business move. If his neck is actually 100 percent, he still has a few years left in him.
a FEW years yes. Who knows how that neck will hold up when he is out there being trampled. Hell it could take one good hit and his career would be over..no one knows. So its a gamble for who ever decides to take him. Someone will, but giving him a ton of money might not be the best business decision in the end.
