BXI2006D... brand new, plugged it in and shorted out? Help

Indo Audio sent me the wrong item once... took three months to get it all sorted out. They forgot all about it about 2 months into it and didn't know who I was... had to threaten them a bit to finally get it right.

You pay a price in service and support along with that low cash price on e-bay.

He is probably right about that! At least from most of what I have seen. You are probably better off to just buy another one and when the first one comes back sell it. I waited for a 6x9 almost 1/2 year. I will never do that again! Just buy another set and when the good unit comes back sell em!
what do you mean sell it back when i get the new one... and sorry i do not have an extra 360$ to play with =(

edit:nevermind i see what you mean, but i don't have the funds

I have all the stuff to repack it as it broke 20 min after pulling it out...

it seems it does have a ebay warranty as the seller gave me and rma number and told me he would replace it as long as it is not a user installation error.

He is located in LA so that is only 1 day away from me shipping wise...

Its also a power seller with over 10k sales so i trust they will treat me well.

And for disconnecting the battery.. ive hooked up multiple amps w/out havening to disconnect anything and they worked fine... id rather see the smoke right away when i connect it rather then turn the key and wait for the smoke to fill my cabin before i notice anything.

That's fine and dandy most of the time, but you're really rolling the dice that way.

Just do the following when hooking up amps from now on to minimize chances of damage:

1. Disconnect the neg battery terminal.

2. Remove the fuse from the main power fuse block.

3. Connect the positive line to the amp first, then the negative line second, and the remote line last.

4. Install the fuse on the main power fuse block.

5. Connect the neg battery terminal.

Better safe than sorry! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

Isn't this crazy! My Hifonics was just delivered by UPS. This is my first Hifonics and I have to say I kind of like the looks of it better than the Kickers I have had. I also bought mine off E-Bay from a place in Cali. It is supposedly new. Hopefully it isn't one that went bad and was repackaged after fixing! I learned something this week about purchases off E-Bay and not being authorized. You only get the sellers protection which is usually about 30 days. That sad part is E-Bay so far doesn't require them to list that. I sent an e-mail to customer service at E-Bay to hopefully get it changed or at least voice my opinion on it.
