Buying Used Car From Dealer Tips?

....well first of all know your shit. Check the blue book value on the car before you buy it. Then, make sure you DO NOT fall in love with the car, salesman see that. Don't go to a dealership and buy the car the same day, that's a good way to get ****ed....Look the car up, find out about the dealer, get the kelley blue book value, and go in there and look at the cars, like you are not that interested.

Good Luck! Let me know what u buy!-----

IMO financing used cars is dumb. you usually can't get good rates compared to a new car, and with a new car you are more likely to make a deal. but they will move on anything. check the values on kbb.com and nada.com BEFORE you start talking money. the more you know, the more they can't BS you. and always be ready to walk out.
also if you have the ability too join a credit union. getting a loan through my credit union is so easy. literally took 25 minutes to make the payoff on my current car and get the loan for the car i was buying. they generally give you loans based on if you make enough money per month to pay the monthly payment, and i got 2.9 percent financing on a used car because they were running a special that month!

Actually I know exactly what I want, down to the year and trim package.
2001-2003 Dodge Durango SXT or SLT without 3rd row seat.
have you tried ebay and autotrader.com alot of car dealers are putting cars on both those sites now

Yes, I have. They are all too high. I mean WAY too high. I don't know if I can bring them down enough for what I am willing to pay. Ebay has had some good deals, and I print those and I will use as bargaining power when I do buy.

I'm not against buying privatley, and it's my perferred choice. Around my area, there are rarley any of these for sell privatley. When I do get closer to actually buying I will run a want ad. Getting tips for a dealer is only if I don't have any other options (Buying from a dealer is a last resort).

if you are finding alot of the prices are too high then your best bet is privately. normally kbb.com the private value is at least 2 grand less than dealer price.

Haha, exactly. ^^

Whatever you do, wherever you buy from, have someone very knowledgable with vehicles check it out. NEVER, EVER believe anything the salesman says. And on any agreements about waranty they try to bs you with, get it in writing.Other than that, it helps to have family friends that own/run a dealership //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif
