buying equalizer

ok for christmas my gift is going to be a good EQ

odds are im going with this kicker

but im also considering this MA cause of the crossover capabailties and can equaizer both speakers..

which would you ppl choose? or if you have any other suggestions... im leaning towards the kicker - i trust there name/quality better and buying a 3 way crossover in the future won't be that expensive.. but if the quality is the MA is up to par would defently be more useful...
