Busted RE HC Please help

I just got my RE HC 12 in the mail today. When I took out of the box I found that the sub is busted half way around. On top, the aluminum part that goes all the way around the sub which is right under the surround, is ripped off from 6 or 7 of the spokes. Im so mad I dont know what to do. I dont think a soldering gun will melt it and my dad says that if its welded the surround will burn right off from the heat. What can I do??? Please help. here is a pic.

You dont do anything except call ups or the shipping provider and complain.

don't try to fix it yourself...should be covered either by the shipping company or the manufacturer

I called shipping company and they said that the most I can get is a 100 bucks. I payed 250 for this thing. So basically now I need to repair it, anyone know how?

Your prolly screwed, unless you paid shippers insureance...

At worst, you could call RE and Ask what they would charge you to fix it.. As cool as they are, tehy might give you a good deal...

Ya that looks like the basket is toast. Maybe the motor is ok but I would probably need a new basket and a recone.

You should really talk to the person that you bought it from. Get a claim filed ASAP and if you got it from ebay make sure you file a fraud report if that guy doesn't give you your money back.

It is very hard to do that to a sub IMO so it could very well have been broken when he sent it.

Yeah I am willing to bet it was shipped like that. I think I remember seeing that auction on ebay, glad I didn't buy it, I was kinda skeptical on it.

But yes give RE a call and see if they'll help ya out. It is ebay, but if I remember correctly it wasn't a dealer, just a private sale.
