Burr Brown DACs

I guess the secret must come out of the bag.

The *real* reason people like Burr Brown DACs aside from brand

naming that consumers look for, is they make ~70 different DAC's.

Why so many?

To capture a bigger audience by making DAC's with different specs to allow

the designer more freedom to choose which one fits his design better.

Specs like;

* Resolution

* SNR

* Sampling Rate

* Inputs/Outputs

* Digital Audio Interface

* Control Interface

* Power dissipation

* Analog Supply Voltage

* Digital Supply Voltage

* Etc.

The second reason they offer so many *is to make money as a company*.

They are no dummies, they know that people will pay extra for extra features

that probably offer no audible SQ improvement but the consumer market

will assume it does because the integrated circuits used are more expensive.
