Burning music CD's.

I was just wondering, when I go to Nero to burn a CD, I burn it using mp3 files in the "audio disc" format. When the album is burned, it takes up most of the CD's available memory, rather than a fraction of it like you would expect an mp3 file to take up. Does burning it in this format restore the original file quality as opposed to the crappy mp3 quality?

Yes.

You're converting the MP3's to WAVs...however, it won't bring back the frequencies that have been lost.

so basically, should I look for the highest quality mp3 I can find (360kbps) before burning it? would that be pretty much the same as the original recording?

There is no such thing as an mp3 with cd quality. I don't care how high of a bitrate you rip your mp3, you still are losing quality. Why else would it be considered a compressed audio file?

Also, remember that when burning an mp3 to an audio cd, you are then converting the file back to .cda (wav) and therefore losing more quality.

hmm I could of swore I said if you want cd quality buy the cd. Must be my imagination.
