Bugs and architecture??

How are you going to make the clear dome? Are you going to form it by using a heat source? If you do form it by using heat, might want to consider a modified acrylic, it is more maliable. Regular acrylic is to hard and brittle, and plexiglass bubbles when heated.

cool, we should start and architecture thread... what school do you go to?
Yeah, i think ima go for ladybug, i stayed up late last night getting some ideas on paper while they were fresh in my head, and its looking pretty good. Im thinkin if i can, for the model, ill make the dome out of acrylic sheet(clear plastic, like plexiglass) that would look sweet, but the logistics of actually building it may be tough, thats a crapload of triangles to have to glue together:eek: I see extreme frustration in my future...//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crying.gif.ec0ebefe590df0251476573bc49e46d8.gif
yea we can do that, im at a community college but ive been doing ARC for like 6 yrs now on CAD and 3D modeling. Im going to probably finish up at University of Cincinnati one of the top schools in the nation for architecture, have fun wit ur project, im glad to see that car audio and architecture is something that intrest u.

well, i wanted to see if i would physically be able to build the geodesic dome i was interested in, so i made a full scale cardstock mock up before i try to wrestle with the acrylic, it took me a long time to figure it out, but i finally got it, and she turned out great! this makes me a little more optomistic for the acrylic.
