Bugs and architecture??

Ive got to design a building inspired by an insect... any ideas?

Im thinking a ladybug, with a huge clear glass geodesic dome as the main body. with secondary forms making up the legs and head.

Ladybugs are kinda gay though, any other ideas?

I thought about that... but i need to use all parts of the bug (tons of legs might be trouble) and it has to have a theoretical disaster relief purpose. (clinic, shelter, ect.)

a cockroach, would be easy to build the wall of the outside since the cockroaches body is like a cover

having a hard time vizualizing... are you thinking straight edges or like a curved dome type thing again?

yeah but if im gonna do that i might as well go with a ladybug, casue I have a really cool idea for it.

each flat body section can be a giant congregation room and the little legs can be little rooms for storage/restrooms/private rooms/offices/kitchens

Yeah, i think ima go for ladybug, i stayed up late last night getting some ideas on paper while they were fresh in my head, and its looking pretty good. Im thinkin if i can, for the model, ill make the dome out of acrylic sheet(clear plastic, like plexiglass) that would look sweet, but the logistics of actually building it may be tough, thats a crapload of triangles to have to glue together I see extreme frustration in my future...//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crying.gif.ec0ebefe590df0251476573bc49e46d8.gif
