Budget Sound Dampaning

I was about to submit an order for Raammat BXT II, Ensolite IUO x3, and the spray adheasive. Came to $150 shipped.

Then I found sound deadener showdown. I got a qoute for,

33 CLD Tiles @ 2.45 = $80.85

1 roll roll Extruded Butyl Rope @ 8.75 = 8.75

1 35"X54" sheet MLV @ 25.29 = 25.29

1 sheet 1/4" CCF @ 27.65 = 27.65

3 Velcro Strips, adh. 2 sides, 2-pack @ 3.25 = 9.75

1 8 oz can HH-66 Vinyl Contact Cement @ 8.50 = 8.50

Sub Total: $160.79

Shipping would probably add $30+ to that.

Im on a tight budget right now. Would the Raammat be ok, or is it worth it to go with the later? Raammat comes with 36sq ft bxt II and 42sq ft of ensolite, while the above is 13sq ft of tiles, ccf, and mlv each. I know you dont need complete coverage, but couldnt I apply the Raammat with the same ~25% coverage, and do more of the vehicle, or double layer some areas?

Never sound deadened. Mainly just worried about the doors for my comps, and the trunk/rear deck. The floor is already pretty well done from the factory.

Yes, he gave me that qoute for what I needed. Its just its ~$40 more for less material. Wondering if its that much better to be worth it.

Did you read what each product does? He only advises what you need for your goal.

I think Don sells a better product than Raammat. And look at all the other stuff you're getting compared to the Raammat, butyl rope, mlv, and the Velcro strips. If the 33 CLD tiles is what you need for 25% coverage, then go for it. Grab a few extra for troublesome spots and spots you later find need it that you thought were ok.

I think you'd be better off doing less parts of your car now with Don's stuff, and just continue it later, it'll turn out better in the end imo

No need to rush and be disappointed in the end.

Go with SDS. The deadner is only 1 step. The foam and mlv is noise barrier. Just foam without mlvis kinda pointless.

If you have to.....go in steps. Start with tiles and rope . Next order...get foam and mlv.
