right now I have a sony CDX4000 head unit I like it but it is old and I was wondering if I would get better SQ from a newer pionner or JVC unit looking to spend no more than $150 right now my highs sound like shit but I have a lot of bass I have pionner 3 way 6X9 speakers in the back and dual 5.25 3 ways in the front and 2 audiobahn dub 12 in subs and a 300 watt RMS profile baja amp is my head unit causing me not to have any highs the trebel is all the way up and the bass is on 1 out of 15

I like panasonic head units....I just do.

I think Pioneer makes a solid HU and for the price I would say thats your best bet.

They have a lot of eq's in the newer ones.

I think that turning down the gain on your sub amp might help a bit, or maybe just adding some tweeter in right places.

I have tweaters that I thought about mounting in the pilers wondering if that would help want to get a new head unit next pay check would the tweaters still sound good with the new head unit
