Why don't you give it back to your gf to return then? If she wanted to give you money she would have just done that. I would return the gift to her, and she can get a refund and get you a nice present
Not to mention her paying $500, so she can get you what will end up to be a $275 (minus shipping) gift, could be upsetting.

I mean hell, atleast return it and have her give you $300 and then you both come out ahead.

Selling it just doesn't seem to make any sense to me, when you could make more by not selling it.

I agree, it's not a kind gesture to sell her gift at a $225 loss. I could understand like a cd or dvd but a $500 dvd player should definitely be returned imo.
