sonic electronix has the discus 3000 on sale for $256. Do u think that would be a good buy?

It depends. If you have set a firm budget and this is at the top of it...I'd do it, but add the extended warranty. If you're willing to spend more, there are definitely better options. For $256, if you get 2kW clean at 1ohm...that's a bargain just the same. Reputable 2kw offerings from ascendant, IA, DD, SQ, DC, etc...cost more. What are you willing to spend?

Forgot you posted it earlier. For under $300 - yeah, that amp would be it, unless you're trying to buy something used.

If me I would go used... Just better quality to choose from even if used... Search for a ed 9.1 can be had cheap and are solid solid amps....
