Buddy + New Truck = Call to me (Budget Setup Help)

So my buddy just got an '04 GMC Sierra Crew Cab. Pretty nice truck.

Any who, I knew it wouldn't be long before I got a call asking for my advice and build help. Sadly, when I asked for a budget he said $300 - 400... AND for this kicker!! This needs to include front stage, amp, subs, wiring, DECK, dash kit, wiring harness!!

At first I didn't really think it could be done... and then, I kind of got excited about it.

So at first thought I went through the "boards" budget brands and came up with this:

Cadence TXA-3004 - $109 shipped off ebay (Cadence is out)

Phoenix Gold RSD 6.5 Comps - $87 shipped

Pioneer deh-3900mp - $83 shipped

Kicker CVR10 d2 - $68 shipped

Knu KLM 8ga wiring kit - ~$25 shipped

Another set of RCA (Knu) - ~$10

Dash Kit and Wiring Harness - $28

Total = $410

This is a little out of his budget and that is why I turn to you. I know I can get him to spend it, but figured I may be able to save on the fronts? Saw someone with a set off partsexpress, but couldn't find them when I looked again. They looked solid (no real clue though).

Also, any other 10 that would be cheaper or better at the same price (either s4 or d2) than CVR in ~1.5 ported

Umm, and is the 3900 decent enough until he decides to upgrade (no experience with it)

Yea, I don't mind taking the risk of going used... but when buying with others money I try not to. So 3900 "good enough"? Or anything you would change?

I had a Pioneer DEH 3800MP, it worked good for about 2 years but then the CD motor became very loud, other then that I think Pioneer has the best equalizer built into it, although I do love my Alpine.
