Actual tire well pictures and mdf board picture to come very soon!
First off let me tell you what I have.
Mmats CX-65 for front stage.
Image Dynamics CTX6.9 for rear stage
(need amp or amps for these still not sure what i'll get)
Kicker ZX1500.1 Mono amplifier - for my sub.
the sub I'm about to buy is a fi BTL with all the addons.
The car - 2007 Hyundai Accent .
---------------------------------------------------
Here's what I've done so far:
I've made a cutout of the trunk floor that looks just like the carpet version in 3/4 mdf .
My idea:
To use the spair tire well for the fi btl and flush mount the sub so we can still use the trunk.
Problems I foresee:
BTL not having the clearance and having to raise the trunk floor which results in less cargo room.
Basically the mfd is flat like the trunk floor without the tire well and the sub will drop in the middle of the board obviously..
I see my mdf board and then maybe another one on top it to complete the flush mount but have the other one backwards ie upside down and have it a little bigger ring than 18" and more depth. that way the surround of the speaker doesn't get hurt but is totally covered. not sure if little air holes would be needed to the top of the board or not.
PICTURE OF My design of the 2nd top board and underlying board made out of MDF. (might FG mold)
I'm wondering since I might have clearance issues if I'll need to some how raise the wood panel. What I'd love to do would be to fiberglass this maken a mold of the wood and have it set right. I don't know if I can downfire with a setup like this but I think it might help.
So what do you guys think?
