BTL question

How musical is the BTL compared to something like a DD 9500 series? I'm looking at 3k watts to one sub for a daily driver. Just trying to find the "better sounding" 3kw sub. I know there are A LOT of other factors that come into play here, but I'm simply just comparing the subs themselves.

i have heard a lot of subs in italy

and, for me, btl is a very good choise for good sounding..

the 9500 is, for me, a good sub for spl and music, like Fi

but the btl is mooooore cheaper than the DD

The BTL is a nice sub. The motor is strong and it has a nice sized gap which allows you to be flexible in what coil you can use with it. Every BTL I have had has been musical and was loud as shiet.

Now the only question is what kind of enclosure to use. I was thinking maybe a rear loaded horn enclosure from PWK or a 4th order bandpass.
yeah i hear you .. im wondering bout that myself .. im having scott(ssackett) build me a 12 with a BTL motor .. now im stuck with which enclosure .. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

I really want to try a rear-loaded horn enclosure. Dave at 12 Gauge Audio had one with 3 DD 1508s on 1500w and it was astoundingly loud. I could only imagine an 18" BTL on 3k in one of those boxes //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crazy.gif.c13912c32de98515d3142759a824dae7.gif
