BTL finally blew, might try something new.....3 cubs @ 33hz and 3kw+. Suggestions?

ahhh gotcha.

im really tempted to get one of these eclipse ti pros again....the only thing really holding me back are the tensiles arent as beefy as i'd like, and they bottom out easily when played hard near that ssf cut off. The bottoming out issue with the ti pro might have been a box issue, although i was pretty sure my ssf was set properly to the tuning. It just seemed alot easier to get it past its mechanical limits on the lows. The BTL was the opposite, I couldnt get it to bottom out when I tried to lol.

That nightshade does look tempting. Just need someone to buy my **** btl motor...

i did with my btl for 2 years.... abusing the **** out of it daily. granted it was probably closer to 3-3.5kw on music, but still plenty of power with lots of torture. I was impressed with how long that lasted.

i miiight be getting my hands on a pair of eclipse ti pro 4hp 15's //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif. in which case i'd sell one here and keep the other. that's one option, the other is a local night shade for 300.

as far as reconing the btl. If i were to recone it then i'd be spending about 150. if i sell the btl motor for 150 then i can kick in that other 150 and get something new on a 300 dollar budget, which i'm okay with.
lol, you just pointed it out yourself

granted it was probably closer to 3-3.5kw on music

going with a like new barely broken in sundown nightshade v1 for $250 local //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

thanks guys. i ended up selling my btl motor and i got the NS. its still stiff as hell and in excellent condition. im sure once it breaks in itll be right up on par with the btl's output.

gains were fine with the BTL before. i had left a bunch of stuff in the trunk for a road trip and i thought just leaving the remote gain down all the way would be okay. seems like the minimal power going to the coils mixed with the pressure against the cone damaged one of the coils. it poped, and the other coil popped the next day.
