BTL 12 box..somewhat small?

I dont want ot put it in a huge box because i dont want my highs to suffer..id like somewhat of an equal balance for each.

I was thinking maybe 1.75-2.25ft^3? to 35 or 36hz. after all displacements

anyone have any experience with the btl's in a smaller box?

Sounds like you should of gone with a Q or BL.... why get the btl if you want sq ? i mean no one really says its a cruddy sq sub but that isnt what it was built for... try the fi forums

Yeah, from my experience with the sub...it liked a larger box with the kind of power you have. Now if you had more power the smaller box might work ok.

should i shoot for the 2.5-3ft^3 area?

i have not personally heard the btl's... i couldnt tell ya... but from what i read most people are vary happy with the over all quality at the recomended specs... with a single 12 i think you should have the room to make a box to match the specs why not try that first and then go on to another box if you arent happy. I only say this because i have in the past tried to build to expectations with the end result only going to the recomended specs in the end... several times... i have a good feeling that you will be happy with it.... this post is making me wanna test out my BL's... **** im lazy.... its fathers day so i should get a few free hours to play... good luck tho

I had two of them and I tried a 4.4^3 @ 38hz and a 5^3 box at 31 hz. The soundquality was actualy decently better with the smaller box altho the bigger box sounded quite a bit louder on the low end with shit for sound quality. They needed a bit more power to them also.

Im switching to a 18 BTL loaded to run off my t4000 and see how that sounds. Im gonna try it in a 6.5^3 box(want to keep back seat) at 34hz.

good deal. yeah..im pretty much going to go with my origional plans then

im gunna build my box for now decently sized..within Fi's specs. then when i get my new truck bought and situated..build that mother a bigger box.
