I just wired my Brutus down to 1 ohm about four days ago, and now everytime i turn it up to a certain point (my normal listening level) the amp drops into protect mode. It started yesterday, just every once in awhile, but now it does it everytime I turn it up. Anyone else have this problem?

Also, does anyone know what kind of warranty Indoaudio on ebay has for amps such as these?

I feel you, but at the same time they have alot of ppl on the boards running this exact same amp with smaller alternators and having no problems....I just want some way to know for sure b/c I really dont have the money for electrical upgrades right now.

Oh and also the amp goes into protect no matter what now, as soon as the radio turns on even if theres nothing playing. I tried a 2ohm load and yeah, same deal.

you should try out the big-3 upgrade if you dont have the bones to spend on a high output alt. it helps prevent strain on electrical system, prevent dimming, and voltage drops. highly recommend that. only cost of it is terminals, power wire, and fuse/fuse holder if neccesary. thats like $50 in quality material?

I don't think it's an alternator issue. Did you check your ground? I had an amp go into protect once from having a bad ground.

well i had the same problem...it keept goin into protect when i turned it up to a certain point...after a couple times it happend it never came back out of protect...so it was toast...i sent it back...

i dont why it happend...only thing that i thought wouldv effected it was that i turned the bass boost up...if you use the bass boost then set the bass boost first then gain...

yeah its definitely toasted, b/c my friend's brutus played just fine for about a day. so i guess i'll just send it back, if i can still //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif
