Broken Subwoofer?

Hello,

I have a video that explains most of my problem. The short version is my 12 inch sub-woofer (Polk DB1212) is VERY quiet almost inaudible. If I mess with the AMP settings I can get it to play high frequency sounds but not low frequency. I've triple checked all my connections and HU settings. I can't figure out why it wont work and need help diagnosing the issue.

Thanks in advance!

That was a nice video explaining everything. Turn your bass boost off. Leave the crossover/lpf at 80.... Turn the gain up to .4 and that's like 75% up. Should be booming then. Report back on what happens

He only turns he HU to 17 out of what like 30? And has gain on the amp almost off. He needs to do what I said... If that don't work do what papermaker said and report back.
Thanks for the help ya'll. I finally got a chance to look more into it. I set my settings to what you said and it didn't change anything. Then the sub made a loud pop. So I turned it off.

I checked the resistance of the subwoofer. It has 1.9 ohms. I think this might be normal according to this spec page:

db1212 - Polk Audio

The resistance of the RCA cable from the head unit to the amp is .4 ohms on the left channel and .4 ohms on the right channel. I had to use 10 foot leads so I think that's why they weren't .2 ohms. Seems normal. I checked for problems with wires grounding to each other. They are OK. The available voltage on the left and right channel is .039V when measured going into the amp.

The amp power wire has battery voltage. And the ground for the amp is good. All fuses good.

The resistance of the wires that go from the amp to the sub are both .2 ohms so that seems normal. Coming out of the amp, the available voltage on the positive and negative wire is 0.014V. To me I would expect to see larger voltage but I'm unfamiliar with what's normal on these subs.

Does this help ya'll?
