Broken RCA, need advice

The male rca connector got snapped off and was snapped off inside the female piece. The knob actually pushed all the way threw the rca female part and is now rattling around inside the amp... Is it toast? Why would it push threw?

I got the snapped off piece out and it looks like it just fell threw the backside of the female piece. Whats on the end of those? Could it be possible to just be pushed threw and still not be broken? I can't get that far into the amp to see...

It opens weird, you can get to the bottom of the board and thats it.
