Broken Mosfet?

So I bought a new amp last year, after months of it sitting I decided to give it a run.

The amp kept going into protect after I would slowly start to turn the volume up. Super confused as my electrical is stout. Checked wiring on subs etc etc. Decided to test the amp with no load and boom kept going into protect once volume would go up.

Took it apart today and one of the fets is broken. As in the black plastic piece where the legs run up into. Any idea how the hell this happens? Amp had 0 damage when I received it. The shipping box had 0 damage.

looks like the drain slid off the main body.

id pull the metal clip plate that bolts them down. check and see if its perfectly flat. take a pic of the fets under the clip but do not move the fets them selves
