Broken JVC H/U?

JVC KD-AVX1 DVD/CD player..3 inch screen... A few weeks ago the face stopped lighting up but you can still play CD’s, radio and DVD’s you just can’t see anything on the screen. Sometimes it lights up and sometimes it doesn’t (lose connection somewhere?). can somebody tell me whats going on with it?

Does pressing on the faceplate make a difference? I can't tell, does it have a removable faceplate? If so, sometimes the contacts get worn and need tweaking/adjustment or replace the whole faceplate. Its also possible the backlight or power supply for the screen is starting to go bad.
