wanna know how to fix it for good?
go to walmart/target. buy a new xbox, cash.

come home, take a hair dryer, remove the warranty label on both of them carefully so you dont void them (more important on the one you just bought)

keep your outer housing, but put the new board/drive/etc from the new xbox in yours. put ur broken shit in the one you just bought. take it back, get ur cash back.

done deal.

Microsoft built such a shitty system, they make so much money because most people go through more then one in their lifetime, I personally have gone through 3 of them, and i only play for a max of an hour a day. Maybe if they actually knew how to cool the system efficiently shit like this won't happen.

I say send it back, or sell it broken and buy a new one. They'll probably send you back a shitty refurb if you send it in anyway.
