Why do you want a dog inside? IMO, that can do more damage to your interior than a theft.

If you still want the 'dog inside approach', you can just have the doors & other entrances alarmed with no shock or other additional sensors that the dog can trip or have them & disable with remote. That is if the dog is inside with a alarm.

I had 2 alarms on my car and didn't do nothing! They still got it. If they want something bad enough, they are gonna get it. Sorry to hear about the loss of your gear, I can tell you first hand an alarm wont do jack!It may deter them but if they want it they will try and take it. I repossess cars for a living , and I can remove the whole car from someones house damage free, and most of the time they never know it is gone. The worst part of being jacked is the damage that is done to your ride by smash and grab morons. The best defense is good alarm as a deterent, and use a 2 stage proximity sensor that gives a warning chirp if someone is too close to your ride. Backup battery is a good idea as well as multiple sirens under the car , inside the car as well as the one they are looking for under the hood. And if possible park in a garage at night. Scumbags thieves will always exist, and they rarely think things through. Take a few steps to deter them. Like window tint, stealthy install, use hex bolts to secure your amps and subs. Bolt your box down in your trunk. Disable your trunk pop. And the list goes on. They is a good thread that is a sticky on the forum. That covers most of this. Good luck.
