i am bridging my 4 channel kicker to bi-amp my morel hybrid ovations. no more f***ing around, time to be a man and go active, even if it means i spend so much time tweaking it that i fail the bar next summer.
so i am in the market for a 2 channel with enough power for the tweeters, which are 110 rms (full specs below).
i am not looking so much for amp suggestions (although please feel free to make one) as much as I am looking for help in terms of what to look for in the 2 channel for the tweeters. bi-amping is new to me, and although i spent a long time on the phone with a morel tech rep today (over an hour), i am a not sure about what to look for.
in terms of the 2 chan i will need to power the tweeters, what features am i looking for in terms f HPF's and LPF's? do i need both or will the morel crossover cut out the frequencies for me. i know i will set the kicker amp for the woofers at 80Hz like usual.
so heres the question: on the amp for the tweeters, where do i set the x-over, because i want to but an amp that goes that high.
last but certainly not least, since the kicker 4 chan has an [Active Crossover: 12dB/Octave, variable 50Hz-200Hz, selectable high pass, low pass, or all pass], i can only use it as either a high or low pass filter, so will this bi-amping thing even work? will the crossover know to cut the high frequencies from the woofer still? this last question seems stupid and almost (but not quite) commonsensical but i gotta ask. i would rather look dumb and be sure. thanks a lot everybody, you guys really help me out on the regular. one day, i will know my sh*t and be able to return the favors and balance my karma.
