bridging head unit

not a good idea at all.

you should amp your front speakers, and run your rear speakers off your deck normally,no bridging or anything.

your rear speakers are there only to create...almostan ambiance....just to bring sound to the back

Originally posted by Tek but my front speakers are 3.5"s, they dont make much sound.
I have Infinity Kappa 3.5's in my dash and they play fine off the front channels of the HU. They're very efficient and quite loud with 20 watts rms. Bridging the HU is NOT recommended, unless the manual specifically says so.
Invest in some alternative front speaker mounting. Even a set of 5.25's in the doors will make a world of difference - it did for me.

ok i was asking the same question

somebody told me no because it would create a 2 ohm load and hu's are designed for a 4 ohm load.

what about if the load was still 4 ohms...then would it work?

You would have to find two 8 ohm speakers and good luck on that.

I would say go get 5.25, It does make a huge difference. If your hooked on getting a better 3.5 look at infinity's stuff. They impressed me (the 3.5's anyway)

i dont have the 3.5's

i was thinking of bridging it to a pair of 6X8's or 6X9's(whatever is in my car) and running my front stage off a 4 channel amp. seeing that i hcae 4 speakers. this would eliminate having to buy a crossover and all my speakers would have the same power. how hard would it be to find 8 ohm 6X9s?
