yeah i got an splw 12 inch woofer with dual 1 ohm voicecols making 2 ohms in total. i have a power acoustik amp which is four ohms. my local sound place told me i need to bridge down my amp to run these together. ive heard of bridging up but not down. does anyone no how i could do this so i dont have to pay 150 bucks to ge it done.

Is it this one....the TS1920-2?

If so - a Dual 1 Ohm sub and that amp aren't particularly suited for use with one another.

Well - you could wire the sub's voicecoils in series to make a 2 Ohm load and then drive it with one channel of the amp....but then half of the amp would go to waste unless you have something else to power with the unused channel on the amp.

That amp is not stable @ 2 Ohms when bridged so whatever shop told you to do it this way obviously doesn't have a clue...

Yeah, sorry man but that guy at the shop had no idea what he was talking about. There is no bridging up or down, it's just bridging. And the amp can handle only down to 2 ohms on each channel, not in bridged mode. Gonna have to sell and look for a mono amp stable at 2 ohms, or a 2 channel amp that is 2 ohms stable bridged, or 1 ohms stable stereo.
