Bridging a 4ch amp for 2 subs.....I got sum questions

Setup: Eclipse 4ch 36401 (specs: http://www.caraudio.com/forums/car-audio-classifieds-old-replies-only/491154-bnib-os-eclipse-36401-4-channel-clean-amp.html) , 2 single 4ohm vc kickers (lowest model)

Questions: how should i wire the amp and sub combination for maximum power? do i need rca y-adapeters for my rca's (since a 4ch amp has 2 sets of rca inputs). what kinda power am i lookin at with the amp wired for maximum output?

channel 1 and 2 bridged together at 4ohms will be capable of producing 140 watts rms power

channel 3 and 4 bridged together at 4ohms will be capable of producing 140 watts rms power

you might need y adapters

but

also sometimes there is a switch on the amp that allows selection of 2channel mode vs 4 channel mode

if the amp has that - then just set it to 2channel mode and all 4 channels of your amp will play from the signal from just one pair of rca wire

some one else is going to have to explain bridge wiring your amps channels to you i find the rockford fosgate website helpful for stuff like that

try looking on the side of the amp where the speakers connect to sometimes there is a legend that show how to bridge the output.
