Breaking Windows

if its an older car 9 times out of 10 the window seal lets go before the window breaks lol (course itll break either way. generally speaking it takes a couple thousand watts and usually more than a couple solid woofers. outside of db drags i only seen it happen 2 times and 1 of those times i still think he threw something at it because of the way it broke

I had a 85 Mustang when I was 16 and had the back "small" passenger window busted out and amp subs and deck stolen without anyone knowing, and it was in my parents driveway... oh yeah, BROAD daylight too... no one heard a thing... or saw for that matter...

he means that you need to read the rest of the posts... you were talkin about something not related to the topic at hand...

but to stay on topic... its very uncommon, and not something you have to worry about unless you are competing //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif . when it gets close to window breaking time, you will know it. ive got a video of me sitting in a truck while the guy broke his windshield //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif . that hurt real good. if i have time later ill host the vid on ROE and link it, you can tell just by looking at it how loud it was, my shirt and hair were goin apeshit.

when windshields break they dont throw shards everywhere //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

its kind of less eventful than you might imagine... other than seeing it move a whoooooooole lot, the car i was in just kinda started spiderlegging. he was also playing music at the time, phil collins //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

i have never blew out my windows...I can flex my roof about an 1 1/2" and needless to say my windows do look as if they are gonna blow out. I have had cracks in my windows before but never blew out a window. Then again I have an SUV but my back window still flexes MAJOR!!!!!!!!

how easy and or common is it for a person to brake the back window out of a car right now my amp is down low but my back window flexs kinda alot

i blew out my back window with 2 type-r's 15's in a 5 cu/ft box tuned to 28, yup went over a speed bump and the box hit the rear window motor, lol, so it was really the box's fault. altho after I sold those to a freind who had one of those those crappy 800w kenwood amps he came back the next day wth a broken window in his tahoe?????

rear window and this one did lol i know front windshields have safty glassthe guy i seen break out his back window had 1 area alot more "busted" and there was an actual hole was in a mid to late 80's mustang with 2 rockford power 12's and an rf power 1000 amp front bridged to a 12 rear bridged to a 12.

usually a window will break beacause of imperfections durring the window-making process, stress spots, weak spots, spots with minerals ect ect. and the vibration just hits the resonant frequency of the glass, or just vibrates it as you hit a bump, and the glass gives way.

other times, its because there may be a problem with the window frame 'pinching' or putting stress on the window because it was not put in perfectly (not all cars are perfect, there are defects) and you cant even tell. then - like before, bump+vibration+metal expanding\contrating\torquing will crack the glass.

maybe there was a physical chip in the glass too.

99% of the time, the bass is only a added stress to the problem, not the cause.
