Breaking in subwoofers

I found out just yesterday that subwoofers need to be broken in... ive never done that before and i didnt do it for the brand new cerwin vega IT 12" i just got, is it harmful not to break it in and secondly, can i break it in now?! and thirdly, i dont have the low bass sounds cd for it, where can i download that from?!

just play the subs on low volume for about 8 hours (well thats what i heard). how long have you had your subs installed for?

well its been 2-3 days that ive installed it

well surprisingly ive never been breaking in new subwoofers but ive never had any problems with them!! what good does breaking in really do anyway?!

yikes, make sure your subwoofer looks ok and the cone isnt cracking. breaking them in is basically self explanitory, it gets the cone a little less tight and makes the sorround more flexible. as long as your subs arnt damaged youll be fine, and yeh, you should probaly still try to break them in with any cd at low volumes (of unless of course you have been listening to them for at least 8-10 hours)
