Brands to consider?

I am going to upgrade my fronts to a 3 way system with a seperately amplified woofer. I have Focal K2P 2way components now to give you a reference. My doors will not accomodate two 6", but they take a 6" and a 4". I am not too familiar with speaker brand, I have seen CDT talked about on this forum........... Please recommend some brands that would fit the bill and even models if you know them!

i am using the entry level Cdt comps and they sound great, i could suggest the same set i have in 3 wayset . i think they are the cl642 set.

actually scratch my suggestion on the entry level Cdt's after i posted i noticed you are using an audison amp and have very good audio gear. i would now suggest looking at the hd642 comps that are the next level up from the classic series that i am using and i can just imagine how sweet those will sound if my classics are so perfect.

Well to save you money you can just add the 5 " sub that Focal makes or they have a driver that you can add to the K2p's to make it a three way. Are you going to run this set up active? if so you are going to have processing issues with that deck and DQSX trust me I have both of them.

Going from Focal to CDT would be a downgrade IMO. JM Labs vs Vifa basically. It comes down to sound preference really, so you really can't say which is 'better.' But, dear lord please don't by CDT without hearing them first.

I have looked at that 5"er and thought that maybe I can squeeze it in, I will look again. This is what I am doing, what problems will I have?

Problems would be time alignment three way complicates things. Espcially if you go active. Active you will not have enough control of the system with DSQX. Other wise that is a great processor.
