Brand new, wondering if this setup is what I want.

Nobody is suggesting amping components?
OP, you don't need 2K for deep bass. 1K is plenty as long as you build a big low tuned ported box, and I don't mean 33 hz. I mean like 25-30 hz. You'll have your super deep bass and still have enough for a good full range amp.

I paid a total of $1600 for my setup, and that includes the battery, distro blocks, ring terminals, all signal/power/speaker wires, screws, liquid nail, spray paint, carpet and wood from Home Depot, deadener, HU, active crossover, sub, speakers, amps, etc. Don't just get bass in the trunk. That only takes care of part of a decent system.

Edit: I see the suggested lists above seem to include all that except the front stage amp.
If u tune to 25 or 28hz ur gunna have a hard time hitting high notes at all. Im guessing he wants to be able to hit all notes and still get low at the same time not ONLY get low. If you tune too low some songs will sound just sick and low as fvck but others will sound like a whoopie cooshin.

I respectfully disagree. I have tried various tunes with various subs, from 25 hz up to 36 hz. If you drop below the conventional low tune of 30-32 hz, you get a very flat response vs. the exaggerated 30-40 hz range of a 32ish hz tune, making it sound like the highs aren't hitting because of the volume difference. My box is tuned to 25 hz, and I can set my LPF wherever I want. Could just be my JBL sub has such low inductance that high notes aren't any trouble, but it's hard to say. I ended up setting my LFP to 80 for sound stage reasons, but it has been set over 100 hz with no problems.

Good god that would be a rip off.... and the only decent thing in that list is the amp.

I'd suggest a 10" or 12" SSA Gcon: Sub Woofers - SoundSolutionsAudio - GCON - SSA STORE

A lower powered ~1000w mono-block: Q1-1200D Amplifier

A custom enclosure for the subwoofer, likely to cost at least $150 after shipping.

You can find some decent components for around $100-$150.

And a good amp for the components under $200. Like a PPI Phanthom 900.4.

So now you're just under $1,000. And if you look for used deals on the amps, you can save another $200.

Get a Big 3 kit from either RAM, or AudioTechnix.... for around $30 iirc. Way better and cheaper than the stupid Sonic Electronix one that was linked earlier.

Then, with that power, all you will need is an OFC 4 Gauge wiring kit, with a distribution block to go to each amp.

Now you're at around $1100.

I realize you still need to buy an HU and pay for install at this point.... but everything I've listed is of FAR better quality, and much more complete, and much more ideal for what you're looking for.

Also, I wouldn't go back to that audio shop again, those prices are absolutely laughable.

Lastly, if you're open-minding to a used head-unit, you can usually find them in terrific, if not mint, condition on here, for a fraction of their cost new. If you must go new, shop from Sonic Electronix for that.

wow that is literal HIGHWAY ROBBERY

you can get MUCH MUCH MUCH better quality equipment for less or same price

hell for 1500bux you can get 2 sundown sa 12s or skar 12s etc..and a better 1500w amp and wires too..\

ive worked at many car audio shops NEVER go there,, bc from experience we wait for newbies to walk in that door lol

Good advice here.

Yes, cars themselves make a difference. I did a 31 hz tune with a RE SE/X 15 in 4 cubes, and it was still peaky in my car. It really needed a 5 cube box though, IMO.
