Brand New Kinetik Battery sitting low on voltage

Dang, I've always thought anything below 12.4 is cutting it pretty close but at almost 12 volts even I'd ask for a replacement with paid return shipping in a heartbeat. No battery should drop that low sitting in an inclosed warehouse for a few years; something is obviously wrong.

What I think I'm gonna do it is try charging it, throw it in my system and check the resting voltage with my voltmeter. If it sits anything lower than 12.8v fully charged I'm gonna tell them to return this thing.

This is what I got from customer service,
"We apologize but please understand that these batteries do sit for some

time at the manufacturers location then ours until sold. Although the

item is know where near its expire date it can lose some voltage from

sitting, you can put the unit on a charger for a couple of hours if you

want those extra points."
Wow, sounds like they have a bunch of first graders working for them.

OP- you should have got an XS Power product....

Sounds like the thing to do man.Sonic has always been pretty good about returns ect.Pretty fair //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

Tested my starting battery and it reads 12.75v so I'm assuming the DMM should be ok. After sitting overnight the battery now sits at 12.4v.
