Brand new Headunit plays cds scratchy

I just got a sony GT520 headunit installed yesterday at circuit city. Today i finally tried a cd and after song 7 it sounds really scratchy like skipping and it will do it through the rest of the cd. I tried burned cds and real cds and the same thing happens

Any idea what it might be? Im going to return it tomorrow to circuit city for a new one. Would them installing it incorrectly cause this or does it cound like the unit itself is messed up?

try a different hu sony isnt the best in my eyes. Sounds like the cd unit is bad.

i don't know about your specific problems, but i had a sony cd player that put circular scratches in all my cd's. sony really sucks.

theres no scratches in the cds from the HU. I know sony isnt the best out there but i just need something to play cds and i can hook my ipod up to.

Maybe a defective unit? I don't think a bad installation will make it play "scratchy".

Its new, make them replace it. If it was brought to them from somewhere else your SOL.
