maybe he had to get close in the bad weather to read his Plate? Trust me had the cop rear ended because of the break check... it would be him takin it in the ***.
Depends on your quality of lawyer.

Our local PD is getting sued for running a redlight, T-boning a lady and killing her. Seems like once a quarter or so metro gets sued for killing someone because they think they can break the rules.

Yes, but there are alternatives to pulling up close to see his plate. The police officer should have used better judgement, considering the possibility of the driver stopping quickly (not for break check, but for other reasons). Had some punk kid run in front of him, bmx hit the breaks, and the police was 'checking close in bad weather', I seriously doubt it would be bmx's fault. If the police had a buddy-buddy cop, it probably be considered 'no fault'...

A cop was riding my *** one morning before school. So I sped up going 45 in the 35(normally I do, but not with a cop behind me). Then a school bus was about to stop, so i started slowing down a lot, but the driver waved me through. As soon as I get beside the bus, she threw her stop sign out. What do you know, flashing lights behind me. Luckly it was a lady taking her son to schoolbefore work, so she let me off. She was a real ***** about it, seeing that she knew she waved me through and that if i would of slowed down any faster she would of been in my rear end. PIGS

the cops here are cool, I remember I was going about 75 around a corner on the beach and there was a cop on the other side, he just smiled and didn't do anything. That's just one example that kinda thing happens almost daily with small things like that. However if i go out to the islands that's where the cpos are dicks like on sanibel or captiva but i don't normally go out there only on the weekends to fish

so they whole-heartedly believe..

but as mentioned, i guess it depends on what area you are in and how many doughnuts the cop had/didn't have that day. i used to turn right on red all the time, but one day did it slightly and got a ticket for 'running a red light' even though people were turning left from the street perpendicular to me. also got pulled over w/ a buddy of mine for 'speeding' but he never got a ticket for it //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif he pulled us over and questioned us like we were drug dealers, had canines all in the shit, jus cause we were in a black tahoe w/ 22's. ****in cops!//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/furious.gif.fc81ca146dbff91fede3ed290dbc4f4c.gif

ask them what the penality for tailgating is, and then after they tell you ask if it applys to them also, and if they try to get out of it get their badge number and report it

its not all cops are bad, i know this one cop that gets pissed when ppl slow down when they see him because he wants to go fast also

you guys must have poor examples set by the police in your areas, my brother works for the police dept, and is very self concious about the laws, he always trys to follow the laws on the road when on or off duty

It depends on the police department, Mike. Officer discipline varies from greatly city to city, never seen a dirty cop?

next time put a switch in to activate the reverse lights, if you thought a brake check could scare the shit out of someone, wait till you see what the back up lights do.

he was probably tailing you to get your plate/ call in then pull you over. break checking probably could have made it worst. if he did hit you, you would still be screwed.

and why blaring your system in town?
