My new adire brahma 15" dual 4 ohm broke after one day of use. I got the sub and installed it into a ported box. The box is approximately 3.5 cf tuned to 30 hz. The sub was playing fine on the song ghost ride the whip by E-40. It made a little crack noise then discontinued playing. volume was about 1/2 to 3/4 up. Im assuming the amp was pushing out under 600 watts because ive played it louder yesterday. While looking online the amp powerakoustic 1000db pushes 632 wrms at 2 ohms. I when to my trunk looking for a smell of a blown sub. I smelled the port and it smelled fine. But i pushed down on the sub noticing it would not give any give. It was extremely stiff. Bass boost was set to minumum and remote bass gain was not hooked up. Nothing is wrong with the amp. Amp is still going with no protection sign. gain on the amp was set accordingly about 3/4 the way up. I didnt want to blow the sub because after hearing online of faulty drivers i wanted to make sure it would be fine. But i guess its not.....

Are you sure your Brahma is a dual 4? Mine is a dual 2, and if yours is the same, then you would have had it connected at 1 ohm.. That's all I can think that happened.. ~630 watts isn't enough to cook a coil on a Brahma, but double that is getting close..

sounds to me that its user error. Gain up 3/4=clip signal. bass boost at minimum=clip signal. Gains should be set properly not accordingly. Time to read up on how to set gains. Also bass boost causes more damage than good.

I'm thinking the samething. Unless your HU puts out a very low voltage 3/4 is pretty high for a gain. If I were you I'd turn the bass boost off. I did have one pair of subs that I used a little bit of bass boost on and I was fine but my gain was turned down. Since reading on this site I turn my bass boost off.
