Bracing

I make triangles out of mdf with a 90 degree angle. Then I take wood glue and slop it on and set the triangle wherever it needs to go, then I take a glue gun and go around the edges to hold it in place while the glue dries. This way you do not need to mess with getting the screws in the exact spot or wood splitting etc. It is really easy and fast to do and once the glue dries it is set/

not to hijack, but didnt want to make another thread for a quick question about bracing...

i just finished my enclosure (typical setup with slot port), i was going to use a piece of dowel rod that goes to the front of the box to the back right in the center, but if i do this the rod will be about 1 in away from where my port starts (inside the box). is this going to be a problem? i could move the brace over and rather than it going to the back of the box, i can have it screw into the port wall instead. what do you guys think?

i would screw it into the port wall.

Anybody? This is what my box will look like as far as port placement, it will drop about 16" down. So I could run 2 supports horizontally and vertically on each side of the port.
