Ok I got a dcon 12 single 4ohm it will be gettin right around 400w rms in an ext. cab Tacoma what should I do about a box I want to build one or buy one that was custom built no prefab. But should I go sealed with polyfil or a tuned box at around 34hz??? I want something musical that I can get good lows out of I listen to 70% rap/hiphop the other 30% is country, rnb, rock. So i would love any input on this I searched through older thread but couldn't find anything to answer my situation

ported u don't have enough power to make a sealed enclosure do what u want. and id tune it closer to 32. it will give u better sq and will hit lower. its all on what u prefer. ported will be louder and if u tune it low u will also get good sq vs sealed u can get pretty good sq but it won't be very loud at 400w

Considering your music selection and power I would suggest a ported enclosure. Tuning would depend on a few things, but over all I think you would be very happy with that setup.

Does anybody on here make them do you think I could do it on my own??. I have all the tools and the know how to use them I just don't know about tuning boxes. All I know of tuning ported enclosures is that port length width bow volume and more factors go into it other than that I have no clue about it
